Our clients, a family of six (including four children), are seeking a professional Houseman/Butler to join their household at their private primary residence in Great Tew. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, discreet, and highly adaptable, providing support across a variety of household and entertaining duties. This is a full staffed household with Chef , 2 Nannies and 3 Housekeepers.

Duties outlined but not limited:

• Support the smooth running of the household on a day-to-day basis
• Assist with serving drinks, cocktails, and informal hospitality during family entertaining
• Travel with the family during periods away from the primary residence
• Ensure household standards are maintained when the family is away
• Assist other household staff as required, including liaising with Chef and Housekeepers
• Flexible approach to hours and tasks depending on family schedule

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Houseman, Butler, or in a similar household role
• Male preferred, but female candidates considered for the right experience and fit
• Comfortable serving drinks and entertaining guests
• Discreet, professional, and adaptable
• Willingness to travel with the family and assist with varied household duties
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work as part of a small household team

Additional Information:

• Accommodation available for the right candidate
• Holiday to be taken during periods when the family is away
• Typical: 10:00am – 10:00pm, 6 days per week (with adequate breaks)
• Weekdays: More relaxed hours, typically finishing by 9:00pm
• Guests not in residence: 3–4 months per year, with half of this time requiring travel with the family (typically to Switzerland)
• Weekends: Family often entertains 8–10 guests; serving drinks and cocktails will be required (training provided)
